In this role, you will shape how teams across AstraZeneca see performance, spot opportunities, and act with confidence. Your work will help colleagues focus on what matters most, ultimately accelerating impact for patients.
As an Associate – Power BI, you will partner with a diverse network of stakeholders, translate business objectives into actionable product requirements, and craft visual analytics that guide decisions at pace. You will join a team that thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and smart risk-taking—where your ideas can influence how the enterprise runs and scales.
Accountabilities:
Stakeholder Partnership: Engage with business leaders to uncover objectives, clarify use cases, and align analytics solutions to real decisions and outcomes.
Product Requirements Translation: Convert business needs into clear, testable Power BI product requirements and user stories that accelerate delivery.
Data Integration: Source, join and map datasets from multiple systems to create a unified, reliable view that reduces noise and increases signal.
Semantic Modeling: Build robust data models and calculations that power consistent metrics and self-serve analytics capabilities.
Metric Definition and Documentation: Establish business rules and methodology for important measures, detail them clearly, and champion their adoption.
Visualization Craftsmanship: Design compelling dashboards and reports that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities—making complex data easy to act on.
Governance and Quality: Apply data governance standards, validate calculations and lineage, and safeguard data integrity and trust.
Enablement and Adoption: Coach users on how to interpret dashboards, tell stories with data, and embed insights into daily decisions.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor usage, gather feedback, and iterate to improve scalability, performance, and user experience.

Essential Skills/Experience:
Translate Business Needs into Product Requirements: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their business objectives and translate them into clear and concise product requirements.
Data Extraction and Integration: Pull data from various sources and effectively join and map unrelated datasets to create a comprehensive view.
Metric Calculation and Documentation: Clearly explain and document the methodology and business rules used to calculate key metrics.
Data Visualization: Create informative and visually appealing data visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
Data Governance: Adhere to data governance standards and best practices to maintain data quality and integrity.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Hands-on expertise with Power BI Desktop, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling for scalable, maintainable solutions.
Proficiency in SQL and experience connecting to relational, cloud, and API-based data sources.
Knowledge of Power BI Service administration, workspace design, row-level security, and deployment pipelines.
Experience with Agile delivery, backlog management, and translating user stories into iterative prototypes.
Strong storytelling and communication skills with collaborators, with the ability to guide non-technical audiences to decisions.
Familiarity with Azure data services, data warehousing concepts, and performance optimization techniques.
